Whole School Overview
Our Computing curriculum consists of units that draw upon multiple schemes of work to effectively address the teaching and learning of skills across the 3 strands of Computing: Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy.
Weekly Computing lessons follow carefully selected units from the Purple Mash scheme of work and Teach computing scheme of work, both of which develop knowledge and skills progressively within and across year groups. Supplemented with additional units focused on word processing skills and the use of physical systems, all Computer Science and Information Technology objectives are addressed. These units are sequenced to support progression as indicated in the Computing Overview.
Through the Project Evolve scheme of work, Digital Literacy is developed. Knowledge and skills are revisited through relevant Computing and PSHE lessons, in addition to special event days such as Safer Internet Day and Anti-bullying Week.
