Well-Being Ambassadors
Well-Being Ambassadors
At The Canons we have 1 child from each class (year 3-6) become a well-being Ambassador. The role is to:
be friendly and a approachable person that children ask for help.
help children with worries or friendship problems.
inform adults of any concerns and worries about a child.
support specific children identified by teachers.
They receive 6 weeks training from our Inclusion Team and are awarded a special certificate at the end of the course. These roles begin in the Autumn Term and the Ambassadors can be identified by their blue hi-vis jackets linked to our zones of regulation.
Sports Ambassadors
Sports Ambassadors
In Year 6 our children have the opportunity to become a Sports Ambassador for the year. The successful candidates are involved in the promotion and development of sports in school as well as developing pupil voice and assisting in the running of events such as Sports Day. They assist with KS1 playtimes, ensuring that the younger children play games using the sports equipment, as well as providing a quieter playtime environment for Year 3 and 4 children in the Friendship Hub. During the summer term, Sports Ambassadors are used to provide coaching sessions for the younger children in sports such as tag rugby and football.
Reading Amassadors
Reading Ambassadors have been chosen for their love of reading, their willingness to share this passion with others and enthusiasm to promote reading throughout the school. They demonstrate exemplary reading behaviours and encourage others to read, share book recommendations with others and keep the libraries tidy and support children with reading at lunchtime in KS1 and KS2. They also attend reading ambassador meetings to help with reading events across the school.
