Computing Progression
At The Canons, we support our pupils to achieve the aims as specified in the National Curriculum for Computing. Knowledge and skills are carefully sequenced and taught progressively. They cover the 3 strands of Computing: Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy.
Through Computer Science, pupils are taught the principles of computation, how digital systems work and how to put this knowledge to use through programming. Learning about Information Technology allows pupils to effectively use the functions of computers as well as to create a range of content and media. A consistent focus on Digital Literacy ensures that pupils are equipped with the knowledge and skills to evaluate content and use technology in a safe, respectful and responsible manner.
